Renowned figure in the music scene in French Guiana and in the carnival, Renato Decater celebrated three decades of career during a special concert at the Sylviane Cédia hall – Le Zéphyr, in Cayenne. For the first time performing solo on this iconic stage, the artist shared thirty years of creations, popular successes, and emotions with his audience.

A professional hairstylist and a musician by vocation, Renato Decater discovered music at the age of 12, behind a drum kit, with the group GCE Maripas. The singer-songwriter then carved out a rich and eclectic path, between zouk, compas, mazurka, and biguine, alongside flagship bands such as XC Lens, Karnivor, and especially Les Mécènes, which he joined in 2005 as the lead singer. Through his compositions and constant presence in carnival events, the artist has been contributing for three decades to keeping alive and evolving the Guyanese musical repertoire.

For his first solo concert, Renato Decater revisited his most notable titles – Dè pié goch, Octroi de mer, Promesse – as well as his reinterpretation of Bay Mo, Mo Mang by Christian Sénégélis, a piece that has become inseparable from his artistic identity.

This anniversary concert also provided an opportunity for reunions with artists who have marked his journey. Aminata Saint-Orice, Arnaud Champesting, Lauryne James, and Ariel Balthazar – back on stage after more than ten years of absence – as well as Orlane Jadfard and Josée Versol, from Martinique, shared this exceptional evening with him to pay tribute to a unique career.
