Turkey is strengthening its diplomatic role on the international stage, thanks to the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which brought together thousands of international leaders and officials, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan.

Speaking at the closing conference of the event held in Antalya, he noted that 23 heads of state and government, 13 vice-leaders, and 50 ministers participated in the forum, alongside representatives from 150 countries and 66 international organizations. He stated:

“For three days, Antalya has once again become a center where the pulse of global diplomacy was felt.”

A global diplomatic platform

A total of 6,400 participants took part in 52 sessions dedicated to major international crises, from the Asia-Pacific to Latin America, and including Europe and Central Asia.

According to Hakan Fidan, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and senior Turkish officials held numerous bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event.

Enhanced regional cooperation

A quadripartite meeting brought together Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Pakistan, focusing on regional stability, economic cooperation, and conflict resolution.

“Our goal is for these four countries to address regional issues with a realistic and actionable agenda,” stated the Turkish Foreign Minister.

He rejected any idea of forming a military alliance, emphasizing an approach focused on stability and economic development.

“We do not form alliances against others. We seek to end conflicts, promote economic progress, and ensure stability in our region,” he said.

Gaza at the heart of discussions

The minister also said that six majority-Muslim countries discussed developments related to the Gaza peace plan, reaffirming their commitment to lasting peace.

The Antalya Diplomacy Forum thus confirms its role as a major platform for international dialogue in a context of increasing global tensions.
