Nathan, 21, dreams of the military since he was a child. He was able to learn more about this sector during the discovery day of defense trades on Thursday, April 16 in Polyaéro. On this occasion, the armies of the land, air, and navy were gathered. He testifies: “I have known the military sector since I was a child because my parents are both in the military. I attended military high school and currently I am in apprenticeship at the Hyères naval air base. Today, I was able to interact with navy soldiers and Alat pilots [light aircraft of the army], they answered all my questions. I also spoke with the flying mechanic, it was very enriching. Currently, I am studying for a degree in aeronautics. Later on, I would like to work as a helicopter pilot in the Alat.”

Marius Vaulot, 21, a student at Polyaéro in aeronautics, is interested in navy and army pilots. He dreams of becoming an airline pilot in civilian life and is discovering other possible careers. He testifies: “There are several students in my class who want to join the military. It is a good continuation, this day is consistent with our training because we are discovering new technologies, like drones.”

“As a former student, my testimony can help them”

Gaël, a former student of Polyaéro and currently a helicopter pilot in the navy in Hyères, was present that day. After his studies, he joined the navy to become a helicopter pilot. Just back from Tahiti, he talked to the students who, for some, want to be inspired by his journey. Gaël found the day interesting: “We want to present our trades. It is related to their studies and as a former student, my testimony can help them in their orientation. I saw several students interested in my career path who are thinking about defense trades.”
