David Charvet, best known for his roles in “Baywatch” and “Melrose Place,” has been relatively quiet in recent years. However, the French-American actor is back in the spotlight for a very unfortunate reason. He is accused of hitting and killing a dog with his van on Thursday, April 16, before fleeing the scene, reports TMZ. The owner of the dog, Vera Errico, stated that she was walking her three dogs around 6 AM in a private neighborhood in Malibu when Charvet allegedly hit her labrador, Sunday, with his vehicle. She then rushed the animal to the veterinarian where it had to be euthanized.

Although Vera Errico and her husband filed a complaint for hit-and-run with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, local police do not consider it a hit-and-run since Charvet allegedly called authorities from his vehicle. Authorities dispatched agents to the accident scene to conduct a “traffic collision” report and gather more information, including whether the dog was on a leash at the time of the accident. According to TMZ, Errico claimed her dogs were leashed, while Charvet asserted that the animal was not on a leash and he tried to abruptly change direction to avoid hitting it.

David Charvet found success in the 1990s with roles in two of the biggest American TV series of all time: “Baywatch” and “Melrose Place.” He also appeared in several TV movies in the US, including “Meet Prince Charming” and “The Perfect Teacher.” In addition to his acting career, he also participated in the reality TV show “The Farm” in Africa, where he finished second behind Mickaël Vendetta.
After his success on the small screen, David Charvet decided to step away from acting and is now leading a company specializing in high-end home renovation and construction in Los Angeles, California.
