On April 16, 2026 – Mathieu Dufresne, Director of the South Network, Emilie Vidal, Regional Director in Montpellier, and Anne-Cécile Brigot-Abadie, Regional Director in Toulouse, presented the 2025 activity report of Bpifrance in Occitanie in the presence of Jalil Benabdillah, Vice-President of the Occitanie Region. They highlighted Bpifrance’s support for region’s companies, characterized by a high level of dedicated support for strategic areas.
ACTIVITY SUMMARY In 2025, Bpifrance in Occitanie supported 5,664 businesses with 1.6 billion euros, mobilizing 4 billion euros in public and private funding. This support focused on key sectors outlined in the strategic plan: – Industry: Financial support for strategic industrial projects in Occitanie reached 317 million euros in 2025, benefiting 615 companies to address growth and transformation challenges. – Climate: Significant support for companies’ ecological and energy transition continued in 2025, with over 50 million euros in Climate Loans (2.7 times more than in 2024) and 80 Climate Diagnostics conducted in Occitanie. – Entrepreneurship in Priority Areas: The Entrepreneurship in Priority Areas program aimed to support entrepreneurs in designated areas. In 2025, the program assisted 3,082 entrepreneurs from priority neighborhoods, doubling from 2024.
Bpifrance’s activities included Financing, Guarantees, Innovation Financing, Direct Investment, Fund of Funds Investment, International Support, Advisory, and Creation services.
FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS OF BPIFRANCE IN OCCITANIE
In 2025, Bpifrance provided a total of 2.2 billion euros in financial support to 664 companies in Occitanie, indicating strong performance. Notable activities included: – Loans with Guarantee supporting 100 companies with nearly 440 million euros in 2025, benefiting actors in renewable energy and the environment. – Unsecured Loans increasing to 247 million euros in 2025 (28% more than 2024) for 567 companies to support strategic plans and economic development in Occitanie. – Short-Term Financing saw a decrease, with 411 million euros in advances provided to 307 companies to boost liquidity flow within the region’s value chains.
GUARANTEE In 2025, Bpifrance facilitated access to credit for SMEs and PMEs through Guarantees, covering a significant portion of bank risk to support riskier stages of a company’s lifecycle. Bpifrance deployed about 330 million euros (3% more than 2024) in guarantee support for 4,862 companies in Occitanie.
INNOVATION Efforts to support innovation decreased in 2025, with 349 companies receiving 185 million euros in innovation funding through grants and loans.
INVESTMENT Bpifrance recorded a record year in direct investment in Development Capital, emphasizing its role as a countercyclical investor. Subscription levels for Fund of Funds also reached a new high in 2025.
EXPORT Export activity showed a significant increase in 2025, with over 4 billion euros deployed in Occitanie for the benefit of 162 companies.
ADVISORY Bpifrance positioned itself as the leading consulting firm for SMEs in 2025, reflecting the impact of accelerators on the French economic landscape. The company engaged with numerous businesses and continued its advisory missions and training programs to support executives, especially in the industrial sector.
CREATION Bpifrance supported a growing number of entrepreneurs in Occitanie in 2025, with a focus on the “Entrepreneurship in Priority Areas 2030” program and honor loans.
PARTNERSHIP WITH THE OCCITANIE REGION
In 2025, Bpifrance and the Occitanie Region strengthened their financial support for companies, deploying new financial instruments funded by European FEDER funds. Collaborative efforts led to the provision of over 43 million euros in financing to 256 companies in the region. Noteworthy initiatives included support for innovation and regional loan guarantees.
The partnership between Regions and Bpifrance reflects a tailored approach to supporting the business priorities of each region. The Regions are key partners in various financing tools and support programs offered by Bpifrance.
