Long engaged in the fight against violence against women, Queen Camilla could once again show her support during her trip to the United States from April 27 to 29, where she will be visiting as a state guest alongside her husband, Charles III. According to The Mirror, she has been approached by victims of Jeffrey Epstein who wish to meet her. A few weeks ago, Buckingham Palace had stated that the king and queen had no plans to meet with them, as the investigation is still ongoing.

Particularly moved by the stories of these women who claim to have been raped, assaulted, and trafficked by the American millionaire until 2019, Charles III saw his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor embroiled in the scandal. It would therefore be important for the monarch to be able to meet with key figures in the investigation. However, Queen Camilla seems to be in a better position. According to internal sources, discussions are only in their “very early stages”.

“It is entirely possible that the Queen will choose to meet the victims in private. These individuals have never hidden their desire to meet her,” continues The Mirror. “Any negotiations would be highly secretive and in their early stages, but it would be a fantastic gesture of support on her part.” At the time of the revelation of emails between Jeffrey Epstein and former Prince Andrew, Charles III and Camilla had expressed their compassion towards “victims and survivors of all forms of abuse”. Queen Camilla had met with Gisèle Péllicot this winter, showing her determination to act for assaulted women.

“A meeting with Epstein’s victims would send a strong message: their voices matter, not only in court but also in positions of power,” said lawyer Spencer Kuvin, representing some of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims. Officially, the king and queen are traveling to the United States to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Independence. This could be an opportunity for Camilla to shed light on women’s empowerment and rights.
