A night open to all dedicated to women’s sports will be held in Dijon next week.
The event will take place in the Salle des États of the Palais des Ducs de Bourgogne. Two main themes will be addressed between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm.
Tables, testimonies, and exchanges will be part of the program hosted by Aurélie Bresson, former president of the Fondation Alice Milliat. The event will feature testimonies from high-level sportswomen and interventions from experts, focusing on the economic and visibility issues of women’s sports, as well as sports practice among young women.
The program is divided into five parts: – Welcoming the audience at 5:30 pm – “Women at the heart of the game: gender diversity, legitimacy, inspiring journeys” at 5:45 pm, featuring Nina Dury (player of JDA) and Vicky Graillot (member of the French weightlifting team) – “From passion to abandonment: how to maintain sports practice during adolescence?” at 6:45 pm, with Ophélie Cuynet (former captain of DFCO) – “Women’s sports facing the economic challenge: visibility, sponsoring, and growth levers” at 7:45 pm, with Lucile Bongiovanni (president of JDA Dijon league) – Launch of the “Tour de France Femmes with Zswift 2026” countdown.
This initiative is led by Nathalie Koenders, who was elected mayor just over a month ago. Given her background as a former high-level athlete, it’s no surprise that she spearheaded this project. Before entering politics, she was the champion of France in kayaking and a member of the French team from 1992 to 2001.
Fostering the cause of women’s sports, understanding it, and promoting it are undoubtedly subjects close to Nathalie Koenders’ heart.
