The Israeli Prime Minister strongly reacted after the Turkish President warned against “possible provocations or acts of sabotage” that could jeopardize the ceasefire.

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, strongly criticized recent remarks by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan about the ceasefire with Iran, stating that Israel would continue to fight against the Islamic Republic and its regional allies.

Shortly after the conclusion of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, Recep Tayyip Erdogan had warned on X against “possible provocations or acts of sabotage” that could compromise the truce, without specifying who could threaten it. And during a phone call with Donald Trump, the Turkish leader had called for the two-week ceasefire to be “used to achieve a lasting peace agreement” and to “not compromise this process in any way.”

On Saturday, Benjamin Netanyahu reacted by criticizing the Turkish leader. “Israel, under my leadership, will continue to fight against the terrorist regime of Iran and its allies, unlike Erdogan who coddles them and has massacred his own Kurdish citizens,” he declared on X.

“Paper Tiger”

Later, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz also took aim at the Turkish President on X. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, “who did not react to the missile strikes launched by Iran on Turkish territory and has been revealed to be a ‘paper tiger,’ now resorts to antisemitism and calls for show trials in Turkey against the political and military leaders of Israel.” “What absurdity. A man from the Muslim Brotherhood, who has massacred the Kurds, accuses Israel – which is defending itself against its allies of (the Palestinian Islamist movement) Hamas – of genocide (…). He would do well to remain silent.”
