Estonia has reached a decisive milestone in the modernization of its military apparatus. The country has signed an agreement with the arms giant Lockheed Martin for the purchase of HIMARS multiple rocket launcher systems. This deal, reported by the Ukrainian media Zerkalo Nedeli, includes the delivery of three new complete launchers along with various types of ammunition, including missiles capable of reaching targets at a distance of 300 kilometers. Six systems have already been delivered to this country of 1.4 million inhabitants in April 2025.
Estonian defense officials emphasize that the integration of this technology radically transforms the operational reach of their army. Previously limited by short-range artillery, Estonia now has a surgical precision tool. This capacity enhancement comes at a time when Russia’s neighboring states are seeking to create a homogeneous and impregnable defense zone.
