Britain’s former heavyweight world champion, Tyson Fury, defeated Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov on Saturday in a comprehensive points win. Fury expressed his desire for a showdown with fellow British boxer, Anthony Joshua.

Fury, who last fought in October 2024 against Oleksandr Usyk, weathered an early storm from Makhmudov before taking control of the fight. Despite occasional success from his opponent, Fury used his jab effectively to dominate the bout.

As the fight progressed, Fury showcased his skills by switching stances and delivering punishing blows to Makhmudov. The judges unanimously scored the fight in Fury’s favor, with two of them giving him a 120-108 victory.

In his post-fight interview, Fury challenged Joshua to a highly anticipated showdown, stating, “I challenge you, Anthony Joshua, to fight me, the Gypsy King, next.” Joshua responded by expressing his willingness to face Fury in the ring, indicating that negotiations would need to be successful for the fight to happen.
