The cultural landscape of Chalon is enriched by a new space dedicated to video game and geek culture enthusiasts. The Gamecash store in Chalon-sur-Saône will inaugurate “Gamecash EVENT,” a unique space entirely devoted to gaming communities, trading card games, and pop culture.
The event will take place this Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10 am to 6 pm at 12 Place Général de Gaulle.
Open since September 2023, Gamecash Chalon-sur-Saône has gradually become a gathering spot for retro gaming and video game culture enthusiasts in the Chalon area. Building on this enthusiasm, manager Maxime Bonnot has envisioned an additional space, located a few meters from the main store, to offer more activities and events.
Covering an area of 150 m², “Gamecash EVENT” aims to be a lively space designed to host video game tournaments, trading card game competitions (TCG), exchange fairs, and community events. The goal is to bring together local enthusiasts for regular activities and unite gaming and pop culture communities.
An Inauguration Open to All
For this first day, visitors can enjoy a full day of animated programs. Tournaments and video game sessions will be available, along with a multi-TCG exchange fair allowing for trading or completing Pokémon, Magic, One Piece, and other popular collections. A giant booster bar will also be present for opening cards live in a friendly atmosphere.
In the afternoon, from 2 pm to 5:30 pm, several guests are expected for signing sessions. Attendees will have the chance to meet YouTuber Neoxi, a prominent figure in the gaming and pop culture sphere, David Lafarge, a well-known content creator in the Pokémon community, and Julien Lamassonne, the performer of the “Code Lyoko” animated series theme. Flash tattoos by JP Stinson will also be available.
With this new venue, Gamecash aims to strengthen the local gaming community and offer a space for intergenerational exchanges, blending retro gaming nostalgia with current pop culture trends.
