The Trump administration is finalizing a report that portrays the Biden Justice Department as anti-Christian over its enforcement of laws protecting abortion clinics and Covid regulations. The report stems from a task force formed after an executive order signed by Trump in 2025. According to a Justice Department spokesperson, a final version is expected soon.

The report does not hold any legal weight but serves as a means for the Trump administration to politically criticize the Biden administration. Trump has accused Biden of being anti-Christian, despite Biden being a devout Catholic who has refuted such claims. The report argues that the Biden administration engaged in anti-Christian bias, echoing Trump’s sentiments.

An analysis by the Interfaith Alliance found no significant evidence of widespread anti-Christian bias in the U.S. The report is also expected to criticize the Biden Justice Department’s enforcement of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, designed to protect abortion clinics and providers.

Former Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Kristen Clarke defended the Justice Department’s enforcement of the law, emphasizing public safety. The report, unusual for the Justice Department, is anticipated to touch on various controversial topics, including a retracted memo about Catholics, prompting responses from former DOJ officials.

Harmeet Dhillon, Trump’s appointee to head the Civil Rights Division, faced criticism for her aggressive use of the FACE Act, charging protesters and public figures. Anti-abortion activist Jonathan Darnel, who was sentenced and later pardoned, expressed concerns over potential misuse of the law for political gain. A separate report focusing on the FACE Act prosecutions is also expected to be released. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche indicated that details from the working group will be made public soon.
