In Tarbes, Céline achieved the precious sesame. On September 25th, she will be one of the fortunate ones to attend Céline Dion’s concert at the Défense Arena in Paris. The perseverance of the fan has paid off.
Ever since she saw Céline Dion live on France 2 and the Eiffel Tower light up, she had only one idea in mind: to get tickets for the concert, no matter the seat or location. In Tarbes, Céline, it’s not something you make up; she registered as soon as the pre-sale opened. “I was in front of the TV for the announcement. I’ve been a fan since I was little. My parents gave me the CDs; I listened to Ziggy and Le blues du businessman on repeat,” recounts the 32-year-old Bigourdan.
In adolescence, she set aside the CDs only to rediscover them as an adult. “I also bought her vinyl records, listened in the car, at home. Beyond the music, I’m interested in the character. She’s the cool aunt we all want!” explains the 32-year-old Tarbes resident, who also watched documentaries and saw the opening performance of the Paris Olympic Games.
In 2020, she bought tickets to see her in concert in Paris, but the event was cancelled due to Covid. A missed opportunity quickly compensated. Because, on Friday, September 25th, Céline, her partner, and three friends will be among the lucky ones in the crowd to attend the star’s concert at the Défense Arena in Paris. However, it was not a smooth journey; it began on Monday, March 30th.
On the night of the announcement, she applied for the pre-sale on Céline Dion’s official website and the Défense Arena’s site. The next day, to increase her chances, she signed up with other email addresses, providing her banking details each time. A winning strategy: on Monday, April 6th, she learned that she had been drawn twice on the Défense Arena’s site. She received two codes to proceed to the next step. Decisive appointment on Thursday, April 9th.
“She did her best to get access to the sale and to choose the seats. I can’t believe it; I cried with joy in front of the computer,” she shared. However, there was a setback: the received code didn’t work, and the site had technical issues. Minutes passed as Céline feared losing the tickets.
Quickly, she tried the second code received. This time, the password didn’t work to log in to her account. Panic ensued, but the ticketing finally appeared before her eyes. Céline swiftly put five tickets in her virtual cart for 199.50 euros each. “Many seats were already sold out. I had set a maximum budget of 300 euros. Luckily, there were still tickets within my budget,” the fan said, still emotional. “It was truly an emotional rollercoaster; I can’t believe it. I’m even afraid of being scammed,” she continued.
She carefully checked her electronic tickets to be certain. “After the cancellation of her last tour in 2024 due to illness, everyone thought it was over,” she mentioned. The concert of the last chance? Regardless, Céline has already started preparing her suitcase for September. She plans to quickly book her plane tickets and accommodation, fearing a price surge to not ruin the joy of her prayer (answered).
