The university takes a key step towards a regional university hospital with the creation of the Corsican Health Research Institute

It is an additional stone placed on a building under construction for over twenty years. By creating the Institute of Health Research in Corsica (IRSC), the University of Corsica takes another step towards hospital-university cooperation in order to establish a regional university hospital center (CHRU).

Under the direction of Professor Liliane Berti, the structure is intended above all to be a place of convergence. “The challenge is to create synergies between the academic world and that of practitioners. The institute will also facilitate training work. For example, in the context of the first complete medical study cycle, there is a research initiation teaching unit,” she points out. A gateway and link between the different components of research and health training in Corsica, the IRSC will help structure the ecosystem.
