Established in 1979 and acquired in 2022, the Iséro-based company DATE, located in La Motte d’Aveillans, boasts a unique expertise in designing complex and innovative heat exchangers that are particularly attractive to the defense sector. This sector represents up to 70% of its four million euro turnover.
Consequently, Romain Vinot, the general manager of the company with 33 employees, highlights the increase in international investments leading to a rise in orders from the Directorate General of Armaments, despite the absence of state support.
DATE, a key player in the defense industry, is aiming to enhance its security standards by relocating to new premises in Susville in the near future.
Additionally, compliance with defense sector standards and norms is a priority for DATE, which recently obtained ISO 9001 certification. The company also engages with the nuclear industry on various standards.
DATE collaborates with major defense industry players like Thales, Hensoldt, and Leonardo, catering mainly to French and European clients, but also extending its reach to Australia and Argentina.
Furthermore, DATE is part of a network of French SMEs providing essential solutions to the army, navy, and aerospace sectors, aligning with the French national defense strategy of sourcing equipment from local suppliers.
Looking ahead, DATE is planning a strategic shift towards deeptech, with a goal to transition its main focus from defense to deeptech by 2030.
