Various creative workshops offered by the museums of Beziers during the month of April invite both young and old to explore art in a different way.
Stimulating curiosity and awakening the senses are undoubtedly part of the many qualities of the activities proposed by the museums of Beziers. In April, the offerings range from creative writing to discovering fossils, phantom animals, or postcards done collage-style.
Workshop on Writing
The first session aims to set things and blackboards straight. In this open session for everyone (even those who do not practice writing or understand painting), participants will write with an artwork, sharing a moment of collective inspiration through a creative writing workshop. “A chance to have fun with words and the imagination,” guided by Sylvie Marletta, a specialist in the field.
(Note: Details of the workshop on Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m. in Museum Fayet, 9 rue du Capus. Price: 5 euros. Registration required.)
Guided Tour
Like a journey back to the future, the Beziers Museum of Natural History opens its doors. In collaboration with the Society for the Study of Natural Sciences of Beziers, take a dive with Clarisse Gontier, in charge of the public, into the heart of the rich collections. Birds, insects, mammals, or spiders from another time will reveal some of their secrets.
(Note: The guided tour will take place on Wednesday, April 15 at 2:30 p.m. in the Museum of Natural History, caserne Saint-Jacques rampe du 96e-RI. Free entry (maximum 15 people). Meeting point: in front of the barrier on Avenue de la Marne. Registration recommended.)
Drawing Workshop
Clarisse Gonti takes you on the trail of animals lost in the mist. “Immerse yourself in a world where shadows come to life” through the magic of charcoal. Deer, wolves, birds, and owls will emerge unexpectedly.
(Note: The drawing workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 22 at 2:30 p.m. in Museum Fayet, 9 rue du Capus. Price: 5 euros. Registration required.)
Collage Workshop
Create a personalized postcard through a collage workshop. Starting from the idea of recycling cards, Mylène Fritchi-Roux, assistant art teacher, proposes to create your own specimen using photos of the museum’s artworks. Experiment and let interpretations run free.
(Note: The collage workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29 at 2:30 p.m. in Museum Fayet, 9 rue du Capus. Price: 5 euros. Mandatory registrations.)
All registrations and reservations can be made at 04 67 36 81 60.
