Weekend Events in Toulouse: Movies, Open Houses, and More

With the return of rain, indoor events are plentiful this weekend in Toulouse. The Cinematheque reopens with non-stop film screenings for 36 hours, guided tours of the municipal greenhouses, the conclusion of the Spring Laughter Festival at La Halle de la Machine, hip-hop performances in Colomiers, and a journey through aviation history at L’Envol des Pionniers.

Film Screenings Day and Night at the Cinematheque

After eighteen months of renovations, the Toulouse Cinematheque reopens this Friday from 6:30 pm for the official inauguration, followed by an open visit to the new facilities and exhibition at 9 pm.

On Saturday and Sunday, there will be non-stop screenings, day and night, along with guided tours of the renovated premises. Screenings will run from Saturday at 10 am until Sunday around 11 pm, totaling about 36 hours of continuous cinema in the three theaters. The Cinematheque now has a new 100-seat theater and a café where visitors can enjoy drinks and food in the courtyard at the back of the building. Special cinema guests will be present throughout the weekend.

Open Doors at the Municipal Greenhouses

The traditional open days at the municipal greenhouses return this weekend, offering a chance to explore the city’s plant collections and admire the new horticultural creations.

Located along the Canal du Midi in metal buildings, the greenhouses showcase flowers, shrubs, and other plant compositions produced on site. Visitors can take part in workshops, activities, and free games suitable for all ages, and leave with young plants provided by the municipality.

Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, from 10 am to 6 pm at the municipal greenhouses (18-19, bd de la Marne), in Toulouse. Free entry.

Final of the Spring Laughter Festival

The 32nd edition of the Spring Laughter Festival will conclude with a comico-musical event at La Halle de la Machine this Sunday.

Starting in the morning with magic shows, interactive installations, children’s performances, and a concert by artist Dab Rozer, ending the day on a festive note. The day is designed as a series of artistic discoveries and games where the public can participate and have fun.

Urban Dance in Colomiers

The world’s largest all-styles hip-hop dance battle will take place on Saturday at the Hall Comminges arena in Colomiers during the 15th edition of the Nothing 2Looz festival.

Dancers from around the world will compete in various hip-hop dance styles, including popping, afro, krump, house dance, breakdance, and waacking. The event will feature top dancers like Kyoka from Japan, Jin from Korea, Samuka from Brazil, Cassie from the Central African Republic, and Blondy from France.

Aviation History at L’Envol des Pionniers

This Sunday, the doors of the Air France Montaudran Technical Revision Center will reopen for a journey into the past. With unpublished photos from the Air France museum, Toulouse municipal archives, and private collections, visitors can experience the ambiance of the “Grand Visits” of aircraft like DC3, Caravelle, Super Constellation, Boeing, Fokker, and Airbus.
