This Thursday, the House of Multidisciplinary Activities (MAM) is transformed into a field of inequality.

Close to 120 students from CM1 and residents of the La Demeure Life Home come together for a Paralympic day where disability fades behind collective performance. From 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the floors of the MAM will not vibrate with a typical competition, but with a challenge of brotherhood. Supervised by the Youth Service of the city and the local associations, students and residents will learn together the technique of wheelchair rugby, table tennis adapted for the hearing impaired, and para-athletics. The goal here is not to “raise awareness” theoretically, but to immerse children in the reality of adapted sports: where the wheelchair becomes a tool for speed and silence a condition for play. Launched in 2024, this meeting begins its third edition today. What was once a discovery has become an anticipated event, valued by both schools and residents of La Demeure. It is no longer just a day of discovery, but a marker that now structures the civic journey of young Saint-Orennais, making diversity a norm rather than an exception.
