On Tuesday, April 7, actress Catherine Deneuve and her granddaughter Anna Biolay made a rare appearance at the town hall of the 6th arrondissement of Paris. The duo stood out at the Antoinette Fouque Prize ceremony, which celebrated women’s rights activists. Catherine Deneuve and Anna Biolay presented the award to Nabila Bouatia-Naji, a researcher at Inserm, for her work on detecting cardiovascular diseases and strokes in women. The actress handed the award directly to the scientist, accompanied by her granddaughter, in a symbolic moment emphasizing transmission and lineage.

Following in her family’s footsteps, Anna Biolay, the discreet daughter of Chiara Mastroianni and Benjamin Biolay, has turned to cinema at the age of 22. She has appeared in several films, including “Chevrotine” (2020), “La Vie, l’Amour, tout de suite” (2021), “Rosalie” (2023), and “Leurs enfants après eux” (2024). Anna’s parents met in 2002 during an artistic collaboration, got married the same year, and Anna was born on April 22, 2003. Despite their divorce in 2009, they maintain strong ties, appearing together frequently. Benjamin Biolay shared in 2017 that even if they are no longer together, they will always remain a couple, a duo. Their family bonds endure despite challenges.
