On April 8, 2026, the demolition of the old Vox cinema, located on Quai des Bons-Enfants, has just begun. Over the next seven months, traffic and parking on this downtown street will be slightly altered, requiring caution from all users, especially motorists and pedestrians.

The demolition of the old Vox cinema on Quai des Bons-Enfants is necessary for safety reasons (fire, infiltrations, etc.). It is also an opportunity to initiate greening efforts to combat soil waterproofing and urban heat islands. The construction site will impact traffic and parking on the left bank street for approximately seven months (from April 2 to October 17).

A public meeting was held last Wednesday to inform residents and businesses in the area. Quai des Bons-Enfants will remain open during the construction, with only intermittent traffic slowdowns. Three short-term parking spaces will be closed permanently for debris bins (in front of number 26), while four temporary parking spots will be marked on the other side of the road, along the bike lane.

From early May to mid-June, heavier construction work will have more significant effects, with a traffic detour affecting parking spaces. Up to ten parking spots will be unavailable as a second debris bin will be set up next to the first one on the road. Vehicles will need to navigate around them, using the parking spaces along the bike lane, which will be temporarily unavailable.

During this period, the city urges motorists, pedestrians, and other public space users to exercise caution.
