The Michigan Wolverines basketball team recently won their first National Championship since 1989. Coach Dusty May’s team ended the Big Ten’s 26-year title drought by defeating the UConn Huskies 69-63 on Monday night. The Wolverines made history by becoming the first team with an all-transfer starting five to win a championship with a record of 37-3. They will now need to replace key players like Yaxel Lendeborg, Aday Mara, and Morez Johnson. Michigan’s coaches have already been active in the transfer portal to fill these gaps.
As of now, there have been no movements for Michigan in the transfer portal according to On3. Rumors suggest that Kansas center Flory Bidunga, the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, could potentially join Michigan. The basketball transfer portal window opened on April 7 and will close on April 21.
