Could Donald Trump’s threats against Iran result in war crimes? Vox raises the question as the President of the United States has talked about destroying “every bridge” and “every power plant” if Tehran does not respond by this Tuesday, April 7th, to his demands, including the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
During this conflict, Donald Trump has also threatened to target desalination plants, the American website adds, as well as the oil terminal in the Kharg region. In recent days, the United States and Israel have started pushing the boundaries by destroying a large bridge and targeting more steel mills and petrochemical plants.
This Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that his army had struck railways and bridges in Iran, while the United States again bombed the Kharg region. Trump, on his part, declared that if an agreement was not reached, “an entire civilization [would] die tonight”.
