The Musical Offering: A 6th edition of the festival dedicated to baroque music

The L’Offrande Musicale festival returns for its 6th edition with Renaud Capuçon as headliner, among many other artists, musicians, and dancers, world-renowned and recognized. The event will take place from June 29 to July 13 in various locations in Hautes-Pyrénées.

On the program will be a plethora of globally renowned artists like Julie Fuchs (soprano), Daniel Lozakovich (violinist), John Neumeier (dancer-choreographer), Gérard Caussé (viola), Thibaut Garcia (guitar), and Felix Klieser (horn), who is back as the artist in residence for the third consecutive year. Violinist Renaud Capuçon will make his comeback at the 6th edition of L’Offrande Musicale after a year off, showcasing his talent in Tarbes, Lourdes, L’Escaladieu, Saint-Savin, and Château Montus in Castelnau-Rivière-Basse.

This festival of classical music, founded by the renowned pianist David Fray, aims to promote classical music inclusivity and raise awareness about disabilities by organizing concerts, dance performances, and gastronomic meals. The festival supports actions benefiting people with disabilities, providing them with access to classical music.

This year’s festival highlights the baroque music genre with events like a “Gala Mozart” opening, a recital named “Baroque etc.” by David Fray, a classical ballet titled “John’s BJB – Bach,” and performances of works by Mozart, Bach, Schubert, and Vivaldi, among others.

Michel Pélieu, president of the Hautes-Pyrénées Department, praises the festival as a valuable opportunity for the region, acknowledging David Fray’s contribution in promoting arts and disability awareness. Local mayors also express gratitude for the festival’s positive impact on their communities.

Complementing the renowned artists and enthusiastic audience are numerous volunteers and donors who support the festival’s mission of bringing exceptional talents to the Pyrenees. The festival also provides free access to people with disabilities and offers workshops in specialized institutions.
