Ulrich lets his emotions show after a defeat
Ulrich, usually very assertive, let his emotions burst after a defeat that changed the game dynamics.
Since the start of the season, he has been one of the most talked-about candidates. But this Tuesday, April 7, in “Koh-Lanta: Les reliques du destin”, Ulrich appeared in a completely different light.
A few days before the merge, the pressure is mounting. Fatigue, hunger, tensions… Bodies weaken and mistakes multiply. During the immunity challenge, particularly demanding, the yellow team still thought they had the victory in hand.

Leading towards the final phase, Ulrich and Jade approached the end of the challenge with a rather comfortable lead. But everything changed in the final moments. The two adventurers struggled, unable to land their last ball, allowing the red team to come back and even win.
On one side, the red team celebrates a hard-fought victory. On the other, the yellow team takes the hit, aware that they will have to go back to tribal council. But above all, at the center of this turning point, there is Ulrich, who until now had mostly been known for his strong beliefs.
“What good are all these muscles for?”
He has been heavily criticized since the beginning of the adventure for his opinions and frankness, and now the candidate cracks. Interviewed by Denis Brogniart, he immediately takes responsibility.
Obviously touched, he goes further: “Someone else would have been better […], at least wouldn’t have been worse… since we lost.” A speech contrary to the image he had previously projected. Tears flow, words become scarce. “It’s the nerves getting to him,” Jade whispers.
This sequence quickly provoked reactions from viewers. Some haven’t forgotten the candidate’s past statements. “Koh-Lanta is for the strong, not the weak,” reminds one internet user, referencing his earlier season comments. For many, the scene creates a striking contrast with the posture he had displayed for several weeks. Others point out a disconnect between his speech and his performances: “What good are all these muscles for?” ironically notes one viewer.
But despite the criticisms, Ulrich continues to evoke numerous, sometimes ambivalent, reactions. “We all want to see him leave, but if he does, there will be no more emotions,” sums up one internet user. Because over the episodes, the candidate has established himself as a true focal point of tension in the game.
