The CIAS launches the Call for Expressions of Interest 2026 of the Silver Hub to support the deployment of innovations dedicated to aging in French-speaking Belgium. Its main ambition is to structure the establishment of companies in the silver economy and address the growing challenges of the demographic transition.
The CIAS, through its Silver Hub consortium in partnership with Silver Valley, announces the opening on March 19, 2026, of its call for expressions of interest (AMI) 2026, aimed at accelerating the deployment of silver economy innovations in French-speaking Belgium.
By 2060, more than one million people, one in four, will be over 65 in French-speaking Belgium. While the increase in life expectancy driven by medical progress is a major advancement, it naturally poses a structural challenge for public policies and sector stakeholders.
Established in 2025 and coordinated by the CIAS, the Silver Hub aims to structure an operational response by bridging the gap between businesses, public authorities, and the needs of aging individuals. Its mission, as a lever for innovation in the demographic transition, is to develop and promote useful and accessible solutions.
An AMI 2026 focused on “the internationalization of silver economy companies”
More than ever, the Call for Expressions of Interest 2026 aims to “identify and support silver economy companies” wishing to expand in French-speaking Belgium, particularly among the beneficiaries of the consortium members.
Many companies in the sector now have sufficient maturity to consider internationalization. The challenge lies in the establishment in a new territory, requiring adaptation to the regulatory, cultural, economic, and organizational specificities of the local market. The goal of this AMI is to secure and speed up this establishment.
A structured support to reduce risks
The selected structures will benefit from support structured around several strategic axes:
– Local anchoring, including facilitating links with local institutional and operational actors – Access to financing by directing to suitable funding schemes and partners – Integration into the local ecosystem through networking with healthcare, medico-social, innovation, and economic actors – Validation in real conditions by accessing test environments and user communities to experiment and adapt solutions.
