Twenty-five years after the release of the first Harry Potter film, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” J.K. Rowling’s magical universe is making a big comeback. In 2027, a brand new series adapted from the saga will be available on the Max platform. HBO has gradually unveiled a cast blending young talents and seasoned actors.
The cast includes Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as the formidable Snape, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, and Nick Frost as Hagrid. This new cast has stirred the interest of saga fans.
Memories above all
During an interview with Collider, Tom Felton was asked to address the new generation of apprentice wizards at Hogwarts. His advice? “I would just say take lots of photos and steal lots of things from the set. The last part is a joke, of course. But really take a lot of photos,” he revealed.
The Draco Malfoy actor explained why: “Because when I see a photo I haven’t seen in a long time, it reminds me of how much fun we had. And back then, we didn’t have cell phones, so it’s a bit easier now.”
A return to origins
While Tom Felton will not be in the series, he recently reprised his iconic role. In the play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” on Broadway, the actor portrays Draco Malfoy 19 years after the last novel of the Harry Potter saga.
“Being part of the Harry Potter films was one of the greatest honors of my life. Joining this production will be a very strong moment for me (…) It’s surreal to put on those shoes and, of course, that famous platinum hair. And I am thrilled to be able to see his story through to the end and share it with the best fan community in the world,” he revealed at the launch.
