Olivia Fortin, Éléonore Bez, Jean-Marc Coppola, Tina Biard-Sansonetti: Discover the mayors of the eight sectors of Marseille elected this Sunday by the district councillors. Mayor of the City, Benoît Payan, presents them with scarves.
A week after Benoît Payan’s inauguration at the City Hall, it is now the turn of the sector mayors to take the stage this Sunday, April 5, 2026. While the winning lists are already known, the district councils are coming together today to officially appoint their mayors and the list of deputies who will accompany them.
Most of the winning list heads will be elected as mayors. But some, like Samia Ghali, who won in her own name the 15th-16th sectors before being appointed deputy mayor by Benoît Payan, may pass on their sector mayorship to others. In this case, to the Communist Jean-Marc Coppola.
Benoît Payan is taking the traditional tour of the sector town halls this Sunday to present the tri-colored scarf to the mayors after their election.
Sophie Camard mayor of the 1-7, Anthony Krehmeier of the 2-3
He began with his loyal political companion, socialist Anthony Krehmeier (Printemps marseillais), outgoing mayor of the 2nd sector (2nd-3rd) whose list received 49.76% of the votes in the municipal elections.
Anthony Krehmeier was elected with 20 votes (against 21 councilors of Printemps marseillais), compared to 4 votes for Alladine Abdallah Salim (LFI) and 3 blank votes.

In the town hall of the 1st sector (1st-7th), outgoing mayor Sophie Camard (Printemps marseillais), who arrived in the lead in the second round with 47.44% of the votes, was re-elected by her municipal council with 19 votes, compared to 3 for the RN, 2 for LFI, and one blank vote.

Didier Jau (4-5) and Olivia Fortin (6-8) re-elected
In the district council of the 3rd sector, the 4th-5th, where the ecologist Didier Jau (Printemps Marseillais) was re-elected with 24 votes, compared to 3 for Léa Bijaoui (LFI), 4 blank votes, and 1 invalid vote.
For Printemps Marseillais, Olivia Fortin was also re-elected as mayor of the 4th sector (6th-8th). She received the 32 votes from her majority.

Not far from there, the town hall of the 9-10 (5th sector) was won by the National Rally list led by Olivier Rioult in the second round with 49.59%. The district councillors elected him mayor of the sector this Sunday.
Tina Biard-Sansonetti and Jean-Marc Coppola, mayors of the Northern districts
It is perhaps the biggest surprise of the 2026 municipal elections: the 7th sector (13th-14th). Previously held by the far right and then the right, it was the left of Printemps marseillais that won in the second round with 50.89% in a duel against the RN.
List head Tina Biard-Sansonetti, former collaborator in Benoît Payan’s office, now wears the mayor’s scarf. She received 39 votes from the 51 voting district councillors.

Nearby, the town hall of the 15-16 (8th sector) was won by the Printemps marseillais list led by Samia Ghali (46.07%). She will now focus on her duties at the central town hall. The district councillors therefore elected the communist Jean-Marc Coppola with 26 votes (1 invalid and 6 blank votes). He is a historical political figure in the Northern districts and was also a Culture deputy for Benoît Payan in the previous term.
