The association “Leucodystrophie – Amis de Ianis” (LADI) held its general meeting on Friday, April 3, 2026, in Ploudaniel. With 35 participants present, the meeting provided an overview of the actions taken to support research and assist families affected by Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease.
A change of date for the study in 2027
Despite some unpredictable weather, the solidarity event Ianis 2025 brought together 571 people in October, raising donations of approximately 10 euros per walker. While the financial report was unanimously approved, the association is considering changing its schedule. The month of October, filled with various solidarity events, may be skipped starting in 2027 to encourage broader participation. “Despite somewhat unfavorable weather and numerous events happening simultaneously, the feedback has been very encouraging,” said the president, Véronique Jestin Marie-Sainte. She mentioned that the participants particularly enjoyed the spirit of the event.
A check of 5,500 euros for research
Several ideas for technical improvements were discussed, such as enhancing signage along the routes. Looking ahead, the association aims to open up the event to a wider audience through sports activities or gentle gymnastics. Remaining true to its initial commitment, LADI concluded the meeting with a significant gesture: presenting a check of 5,500 euros to support medical research.
