Lola Dewaere, who was diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) in 2024, continues to speak out. While promoting “Je sais pas,” a mini-series set to air on Monday, April 6, on France, the actress known for her work in films like “Mince Alors” and various TV shows, gave an interview to Voici.
In the interview, she opened up about her childhood, expressing, “I was often told that I was in my own world. I was somewhat rebellious, not wanting to conform, yet paradoxically seeking to fit in and be normal. But deep down, I knew I was not like everyone else.”
She spoke of the difficulties faced at school because she felt different from her peers. It was only later in life that Dewaere received her ADHD diagnosis, which helped her make sense of her struggles. She reflected, “It puts things into perspective and makes you realize you’re not crazy. At some point, you feel guilty for not being like everyone else.”
Dealing with struggles in concentration, inability to multitask, and outbursts of anger, Dewaere found her symptoms to be hindrances in her daily life. The mini-series “Je sais pas” is based on Barbara Abel’s novel of the same name. The story kicks off with a class outing turning into a nightmare when 6-year-old Emma goes missing in the forest, only to reappear injured, wearing her teacher’s bandana around her arm, while the teacher goes missing.
