After PSG’s victory against Toulouse at Parc des Princes on Friday (3-1), Lucas Hernandez and the Parisians set their sights on the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool. The French defender is confident: everyone is ready to fight.

PSG wanted to calmly prepare for their next challenge by taking a four-point lead over their closest pursuers? Mission accomplished. The Parisians did not hesitate to secure a win against Toulouse (3-1) on Friday, opening the 28th round of Ligue 1, despite the late returns of many international players who featured for their national teams. This puts pressure on Lens, who will face Lille on Saturday in a tense North derby.

After the match, Lucas Hernandez set the tone: the focus is now on the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool, taking place on Wednesday at Parc des Princes. No misplaced confidence, but a sense of being well-prepared.

“We knew it wouldn’t be an easy game after the break. We have players who returned yesterday. But we are all confident, we are looking forward to the (Liverpool) match. We are ready,” Lucas Hernandez reassured on Ligue 1+. “Everyone is involved, ready, and everyone is responding. It’s important for the future, we will need everyone to try to achieve what we want.”

“The coach knows,” stated the defender.

Hernandez seems to have regained his form after a few challenging months. His playing time is increasing, and he is coming off a very convincing performance for the French national team against Colombia in a friendly match preparing for the 2026 World Cup.

“I stay connected during training, giving 100%. If you don’t play, you can be frustrated, you can be upset at training, you may not feel like it. But that’s not the way to go,” emphasized Lucas Hernandez. “You have to show the coach that you give 100% in training and are ready to start any match. The coach knows. See you on Wednesday.”
