An extraordinary event took place at the Gillette razor factory in Poland, where a 42-year-old man went to his former workplace and shot at his ex-boss. He explained his actions by citing the death of his dog.
The man forcibly entered the site by crossing a fence, fired at a glass door with a pistol, and then entered his former boss’s office. The ex-boss managed to escape upon seeing the weapon, but the man fired multiple times in his direction without hitting him. Around 400 employees were evacuated from the site after the alarm was raised.
Police and anti-terrorism agents negotiated with the suspect for seven hours before he agreed to surrender. The suspect claimed his motive was due to past conflicts with his superior, and he denied any intention to harm anyone, stating that he had considered suicide on-site due to his dog’s death. However, the discovery of knives in his bag during a search indicated premeditation. The suspect has been charged with attempted murder, threats, and possession of marijuana, and has been remanded in custody for three months.
The suspect had worked at the factory for 14 years before the incident in 2024. The Gillette factory in Poland is the largest in the world, producing razor blades and razors sold in over 100 countries across five continents.
