Axed mainly on the attributions of delegations in the various committees, this first council of the Mazars era seems to have set the tone.
After his installation on March 27, 2026, the new mayor of Stéphane Mazars presided over his first municipal council on the night of Friday, April 3. A rather technical session, during which a large part of the deliberations concerned the appointment of elected officials to the various and numerous committees.
However, this first meeting, which lasted a little over an hour, allowed for an assessment of the relations between the new municipal team and its opposition. Specifically, the seven elected members of “Tous Ruthénois,” including the defeated mayor Christian Teyssèdre and the two representatives of Rodez Citoyen.
Imposing a way of doing things
While Stéphane Mazars may sometimes seem hesitant in his new role, relying on the general manager of services Pierrick Gaudy and his deputy Julie Maréchal, he nevertheless imposed a way of doing things. On one hand, he was willing to engage with Rodez Citoyen, and on the other hand, obligated to respond to the initial challenges from Tous Ruthénois.
In the next municipal council meeting on April 29, Stéphane Mazars has already announced that the report from the Court of Auditors criticizing F’estivada will be on the agenda.
