The month of April promises to be full of events in Toulouse! From culture to cinema, literature, and music – discover our four ideas for family outings.
Zoom in on the cultural news of April in Toulouse with France Télévisions’ agenda at ICI Occitanie! The Abattoirs Museum invites you to explore its new exhibition produced in collaboration with the Quai des Savoirs: “Listening to the Living. Biomimicry: Between Arts and Sciences”. The concept of biomimicry, proposed by American researcher Janine Benyus in 1997, involves drawing inspiration from nature (plants, animals, ecosystems) to create technologies, materials, or organizations that are more sustainable and efficient. It is based on the idea that nature, after 3.8 billion years of evolution, has already solved many of the problems facing humanity today!
“This year, we will talk about literature and read aloud,” says Olivier Poivre d’Arvor, the festival’s founder and president. From water scarcity to resistance, emotions, and dreams – the festival will cover a wide range of topics.
The Marathon of Words will take place from April 8 to 12 in Toulouse, featuring guests such as Amélie Nothomb and Christiane Taubira. The festival aims to promote reading and writing among young generations.
In addition to literary events, there will be artistic installations, readings in public spaces, and even a unique performance bringing together Captain Nemo and the Minotaur.
Don’t miss the opportunity to explore the romantic symphonies of Schumann over two evenings, presented by Frank Beermann on April 10 and 11.
The Cinémathèque de Toulouse will reopen with new spaces, including a third cinema hall and a new café. The weekend of April 10-12 will be a celebration of this renovation, with free entry and a range of film screenings and exhibitions.
From cinema to literature, music, and culture – there is something for everyone in Toulouse in April! France Télévisions ICI Occitanie is a partner in these events.
