Lizzo recently revealed that she lost her virginity after turning 30. On April 1, 2026, the singer of the hit song “About Damn Time” was a guest on the podcast “Friends Keep Secrets” hosted by Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky, and Kristin Batalucco. She reflected on this milestone, which she reached in 2020, saying, “I never even thought about it… I had promised myself when I was younger that I wouldn’t have sex until I won a Grammy Award.”

This year, Lizzo won three Grammy Awards for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Truth Hurts,” Best Urban Contemporary Album for the deluxe version of “Cuz I Love You,” and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Jerome.” Shortly after the ceremony, she finally lost her virginity.

A Uncommon Situation

Lizzo described the situation as something that embarrassed her for a long time. She shared a memory from her university days: “It was so awkward. I was with friends, having a girls’ night, and someone asked me, ‘Wait, Lizzo, are you a virgin?’ And I remember answering, ‘No!’ I remember it being so awkward. I said, ‘I love sex…'”

The singer’s first kiss at the age of 21 also didn’t go well: “It was on New Year’s Eve and he forced me. I was furious and thought, ‘My first kiss is ruined!’ I was beside myself.” Her story sheds light on the concept of “late” sexuality.

Lizzo is currently in a relationship with TV host and musician Myke Wright. Although they have known each other since 2016, the couple officially announced their relationship in 2022.
