L’Equipe published on Thursday, April 2, its annual survey on the salaries in Ligue 1. Ousmane Dembele and Luis Enrique dominate the rankings. The gap between PSG and other clubs remains huge.
The French international forward of Paris SG Ousmane Dembele, with an estimated monthly gross salary of 1.5 million euros, and his Spanish coach Luis Enrique (1 million) are the highest-paid player and coach in Ligue 1 in 2026, according to a survey published by L’Equipe.
The Top 13 salaries, 100% Parisian:
Among players, the 13 highest salaries in the league are paid at PSG, from Dembele to French international goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier (500,000 euros gross monthly), according to the sports daily. Brazilian international defender Marquinhos (1.12 million), Moroccan international defender Achraf Hakimi (1.1 million), and French international defender Lucas Hernandez (1.1 million) are also above the one million euros mark in gross monthly salary.
Hojbjerg, best salary outside PSG:
Danish international midfielder of Olympique de Marseille Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is the highest non-Parisian earner with an estimated monthly gross salary of 500,000 euros, better than his teammates Mason Greenwood and Geoffrey Kondogbia who earn 450,000 euros gross monthly, along with Parisian Illya Zabarnyi and Lyon’s Corentin Tolisso, according to the survey.
Luis Enrique crushes the competition among coaches:
Among coaches, Luis Enrique is by far the highest-paid one: at Lyon, Portuguese Paulo Fonseca has the second highest salary in Ligue 1 with 350,000 euros gross monthly, ahead of Habib Beye and his 230,000 euros gross monthly in Marseille. The least paid technician is Benoit Tavenot who receives 25,000 euros gross monthly at Metz, according to L’Equipe.
PSG, a world apart:
On average, according to L’Equipe, PSG pays its players 650,000 euros in gross monthly salaries (compared to 647,000 last year), ahead of Olympique de Marseille with 300,000 euros (compared to 250,000 in 2025) and Monaco with 140,000 euros (same as last year).
