Current Situation in Gaza and Violations of International Law
Since the ceasefire, Israeli bombings continue to exterminate Palestinians in Gaza. In the West Bank, violations of international law persist. Offensive attacks by Israeli settlers are supported by a government that no longer hides its desire to destroy and annex. In Iran, Lebanon, Venezuela, and Cuba, the United States also disregard international law with increasing boldness. Has the Palestinian and Gazan situation facilitated the normalization of lawlessness? Conversely, should it be viewed as part of a continuum, for example, with the wars in Iraq and Libya? In this article for Blast, Benjamin Fiorini, a lecturer at Paris 8 and member of the JURDI association, discusses the dangerous breakdown of international law.
