Paris Saint-Germain suffered a heavy defeat in Veszprem, Hungary on Wednesday during the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 (32-24). The Parisian club is in a difficult position to hope to reach the semifinals.
Unbeaten since December 3rd in all competitions, Paris Saint-Germain knew they were facing a tough challenge on Wednesday in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Veszprem. Unfortunately, PSG were outplayed in Hungary. Stefan Madsen’s team were clearly defeated with a score of 32-24, jeopardizing their chances of reaching the quarterfinals of the European competition. With eight units to catch up in the second leg following Veszprem’s victory (32-24) with Hugo Descat (10/10), Yannis Lenne (6/6), and Nedim Remili (4/11), Paris will have to pull off a remarkable feat in a week’s time, as they were eliminated in the round of 16 of the Champions League last year.
