Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian delivered a message to the American people, emphasizing that Iran harbors no animosity towards US citizens.
Pezeshkian stated that despite facing challenges such as occupation, aggression, and global pressures, Iran has never initiated a war in modern history but has only defended itself against aggressors.
He refuted any depiction of Iran as a threat, attributing such narratives to other countries seeking to justify pressure, maintain military dominance, and control strategic markets.
The President highlighted Iran’s lack of hostility towards other nations’ populations, including those from Gulf states, the US, and Europe. He clarified that Iran’s military activities have solely been reactions and defenses against US aggression and presence in the region.
Pezeshkian traced the history of US-Iran relations to peace until 1953, when US intervention derailed democracy, reinstated dictatorship, and bred distrust among Iranians towards US policies.
Despite facing severe sanctions and direct military actions, Iran has progressed significantly, with improvements in literacy rates, technology, healthcare, and infrastructure. Pezeshkian urged the public to disregard media propaganda.
The President questioned the benefits of war and criticized the US for acting as a proxy for Israel. He accused the US of war crimes for targeting Iran’s critical infrastructure and warned of repercussions beyond Iran’s borders due to the US’s confusion and failure to find lasting solutions.
Pezeshkian concluded by affirming Iran’s resilience in the face of conflict and challenged the US to choose between confrontation and engagement, citing Iran’s enduring history of overcoming aggressors.
