Tiger Woods’ (50 years old) big comeback last week at an indoor event on the TGL circuit had suggested that the American legend would return to the Masters. However, this will not happen. Following his car accident on Friday, the “Tiger” announced that he would have to undergo treatment.

Back to square one for Tiger Woods (50 years old). The American had barely returned to competition before being forced to distance himself from the greens once again. The story seemed all set. After making his big comeback last Tuesday during the second round of the TGL circuit’s final, indoors – which he played with the Jupiter Links team – the “Tiger” was supposed to continue on to the Masters, for his 26th participation in the event. Even though there were doubts about his presence, the legendary champion was actually on the participant list.

Woods disappeared after his new car accident last Friday. According to the sheriff of Florida county, the golfer, who showed signs of “impaired faculties,” had apparently flipped his vehicle after hitting the back of a truck he was attempting to pass. The five-time winner of the Masters, who earns the honor of wearing the famous green jacket, announced on Tuesday on his social media that he would “focus on his health” and “undergo a new treatment,” thus giving up his chances of playing in the Masters.

Will we ever see the “Tiger” again?

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” he explains. “I am stepping away for a period of time to undergo treatment and focus on my health. It is necessary for me to prioritize my well-being and work on my recovery. I commit to taking the time needed to come back healthier, stronger, and more focused, on a personal and professional level. I appreciate your understanding and support, and I ask you to respect my privacy, for my family, my loved ones, and myself,” Woods posted after this new incident, which led him to spend eight hours in detention before being released on bail.

The golfer did not have an abnormal alcohol level during his arrest. However, the police believe that the American champion, who refused to take a test, was under the influence of drugs or medications. It feels like déjà vu. And there is no indication today that we will see Tiger Woods again, absent since 2024 and his last participation in the British Open, on a green.
