The National Veterinary School of Toulouse (ENVT) has made its debut, for the first time, in the QS World University Rankings by Subject, in the Veterinary Sciences thematic area, with the 2026 edition published in March. The institution ranks 56th globally.

The QS ranking evaluates approximately 1,000 universities and higher education institutions worldwide based on criteria that combine reputation and performance in teaching and research.

The QS World University Rankings stands out for its significant emphasis on academic reputation and employer reputation, which together represent 40% of the final score. This methodology tends to favor institutions that are widely recognized internationally. These criteria are evaluated through surveys conducted among reference panels.

The criteria taken into account include: – Employer reputation: 10%, based on a survey; – Academic reputation: 30%, based on a survey among researchers; – H-index citation index: 30%, based on data from the Scopus bibliographic database developed by Elsevier; – Citations per article: 30%, also calculated from data from Scopus.

Published annually by Quacquarelli Symonds, a British company specializing in global higher education analysis, this ranking is among the three most recognized university rankings in the world, alongside the rankings of Times Higher Education and Shanghai, in which ENVT also appears. It provides both global rankings and rankings by discipline.

An international recognition that acknowledges collective work.

This ranking entry highlights the commitment of researchers, teacher-researchers, and partners of ENVT, as well as the quality, and relevance of the scientific projects developed there. It reinforces the position of the school as a major player in veterinary research, both at the European and international levels.

The top three institutions in the QS ranking for Veterinary Sciences are: 1. Royal Veterinary College, University of London (United Kingdom); 2. University of California, Davis (United States); 3. Cornell University (United States).
