Last week, Big Brother Canada viewers were very vocal about their disappointment with the twist of the Bosses’ Council, which gagged several jury members before the final vote. The season winner, Gabrielle Cloutier, addressed the issue in an interview with Showbizz.net.

“Big Brother is not a game that is meant to be fair,” she said. “It’s a game meant to have twists that benefit some people and disadvantage others. That’s why we love this game. So as much as it wasn’t my favorite twist to experience, I’m glad it existed because it added an extra challenge.”

“While living through it, I didn’t find it that interesting, but looking back, I think it’s important to have things like that,” she added.

She continued, “It was difficult for me to do because that’s not how I played. And having to lie to my allies was hard because I had chosen to only tell certain people the truth. The game forced me to lie to them. I wouldn’t have done it naturally, but I find it interesting that the game made me do it and confronted me about it.”

“I think that’s what makes Big Brother, Big Brother,” she mused. “If everything was smooth and fair and equal, it wouldn’t be interesting.”

“What we want is for it to be engaging and for there to be things that confuse people. That’s why even the redemptions, even the things that might not necessarily have been to my advantage, I can see that as a viewer, it enriches the game. And there have always been (more or less) seven people on the jury, so I don’t see why this year would be any different.”

It is worth noting that Gab won her season with six out of seven votes from the final jury. Congratulations to the great champion of this sixth season!
