The Italian group announces today the appointment of Nicholas Reed as Vice President of Innovation and Audiology Research worldwide. This position was tailor-made for the researcher, recognized internationally for his work on the links between hearing loss and overall health.
Nicholas Reed, who holds a Doctorate in Audiology from Towson University and Public Health with a specialization in Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University, has been working for years on the connections between hearing loss and healthy aging, both clinically and population-based. Prior to joining Amplifon, he was an associate professor at New York University School of Medicine in the ENT department. Among his recent publications, several explore the gaps in audiology research regarding the connections between hearing loss, cognitive abilities, comorbidities. He is a co-author of the Achieve trial analysis, which identified the effects of hearing aids in slowing cognitive decline.
