Gabrielle Côté did her homework before embarking on the big adventure of Big Brother Canada. A true fan, she had already watched previous seasons and understood well the strategies deployed in the Canadian version of this visual phenomenon adapted today in 70 countries.

“Finding myself in this position, being in the history of Big Brother champions, it’s really an honor! It’s a little dream that I’m realizing,” said the grand winner over the phone.

What does she love so much about this show concept? Particularly the “strategic aspect” and the “social relationships” that form between the candidates locked together for almost three months.

“It’s a bit of a microcosm. We like to see how these relationships develop, how people manage to betray each other, to live with betrayal. We also like redemptions, great comeback stories, the underdogs who manage to break free from the pitfalls,” detailed the almost unanimous victor.

In short, according to Gabrielle Côté, Big Brother Canada brings together all the ingredients to offer the audience “good drama.”

“It’s like a good movie screenplay! It’s everything we want: we want betrayal, lies. We want people to rise up, to succeed or fail at a crucial moment,” exclaimed the contestant seen in the show STAT.

The desire to “put on a good show” did not influence her way of playing… but her reactions to the game? Oh yes!

“For example, Felix’s return. Let’s be clear, it was very bad for my game. What allowed me to laugh at that moment instead of taking it as a blow, is because I could see it with the eyes of a spectator,” summarized the screenwriter who directed the film Les Furies.
