On March 30, 2026, at 5:49 pm, the last municipal council meeting of Soullans in January included discussions on acquiring parcels, implementing and adopting an internal regulation for sports facilities, as well as installing charging stations for electric vehicles.
Acquisition of two parcels As part of the communal land reserve establishment and in anticipation of future needs for development and planning of the territory, the council approved the acquisition of a parcel measuring 4,135 m² located at Le Pin for €900.
The free acquisition of a 9 m² parcel located at the corner of Bois Ménard Street and Chardonnerets Street has been validated for road improvement purposes, particularly in terms of visibility, according to Mayor Jean-Michel Rouillé.
Adoption of an internal regulation for sports facilities To ensure the safety of users, regulate schedules, access conditions, responsibilities, and equipment maintenance, an internal regulation for the commune’s sports facilities was established in compliance with sports and local government codes. Unanimously approved, the regulation will be prominently displayed in the facilities.
“The implementation of this regulation will help structure the use of facilities so that everyone can practice their sports activities in the best conditions,” emphasized Pascal Guittonneau, deputy mayor in charge of infrastructure, major projects, and buildings.
Charging stations for electric vehicles As part of the call for expressions of interest launched by the Ocean Marais de Monts intermunicipal association for the deployment of Electric Vehicle Charging Installations (IRVE) across its communes, two locations were selected to complement the existing network: the stadium parking lot and Ledesma square.
“It seemed relevant to us to target sites that will allow users to charge their vehicles while using the sports field or doing their shopping in the town,” explained the councilor. This proposal was unanimously agreed upon, and the mandate will be given to the intermunicipal association to organize the call for expressions of interest.
