Arnaud Denis’s life took a turn in 2023 following what was supposed to be a benign surgical intervention. Three years later, the artist, who has been nominated multiple times for the Molière Awards, no longer recognizes himself. Deprived of autonomy, he now lives bedridden, far from the stage he had to abandon. In a recent article in the Dauphiné Libéré, he decided to break his silence. His testimony is raw, describing a life reduced to the essentials.

“I can no longer leave my house, I have no social life, I have no life at all. I live like a terminally ill patient. No one can help me. Doctors have nothing more to offer,” he lamented. Since March 18, the actor has been hospitalized in palliative care in Belgium, where two doctors have agreed to euthanasia.

A well-thought-out decision that he made when he could no longer wash himself and was losing dignity. In a recent interview, Arnaud Denis detailed an unbearable daily routine. “I can no longer walk, I can no longer wash myself, I can no longer digest properly. I hover around 69 kilos for 1.84 meters, but I barely eat one meal a day. I have developed instability in my neck and spine. This means I can no longer hold up my head. I am almost bedridden 24 hours a day. My daily routine is focused on managing to eat one meal a day and taking a few steps in the room,” he explained.

Arnaud Denis revealed that he no longer fears death. Initially, he refused to give up, following all medical recommendations for a year and a half without improvement. As his health deteriorated, the actor accepted his fate. The ordeal began after the placement of a polypropylene prosthesis to treat a hernia in his groin. Soon, alarming symptoms started to appear.

Arnaud Denis is awaiting approval to end his suffering. He recounted a series of distressing medical issues. “In ten days, blood in the urine, blood in the stool, hypotension. I had a blood pressure of eight for two weeks. I went to the emergency room twenty times,” he shared. His symptoms have worsened over time, leading to a drastic decline in his overall health. Despite seeking medical help in the United States, his condition has not improved. Convinced that he has tried everything, Arnaud Denis now waits for official approval to end what he describes as an unbearable ordeal.
