President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Accountant-General of the Federation to create a special account for a fund dedicated to serving individuals, injured soldiers, and families of deceased heroes in honor of his 74th birthday. President Tinubu made the announcement on Sunday during his birthday celebration and in recognition of the brave men and women in the Armed Forces.
The President urged Governors, members of the National Assembly, the private sector, and friends to contribute and support the initiative to boost the morale of troops on the front lines. Tinubu stated that he has personally directed his salary payments since taking office to be deposited into this account as initial funding. The fund aims to provide direct assistance to those who have been injured or lost their lives in service to the country.
President Tinubu emphasized the importance of not forgetting those who put themselves in harm’s way for peace, as well as the hardships faced by their families. He called on various stakeholders to join in supporting the initiative, with more details about the account to be provided soon.
