In the context of its cross-training school, Sport 7 organized a special “Olympic Games” day for young members, with the aim of promoting the fundamental values of sport: sharing, surpassing oneself, team spirit, and the pleasure of moving. Children aged 3 to 5 had their own edition of the Olympics from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Thirty children came together to participate in this event in a playful, dynamic, and caring atmosphere. The children took part in various events organized in teams, promoting cooperation and mutual help: relay jumps (Broad Jump) involving distance and speed, functional challenges including adapted burpees and various motor workshops, cardio challenge on ergometers aiming to achieve maximum calories on rowers, SkiErg, and bike, allowing for a fun discovery of these tools, and a WOD (Workout Of the Day) in AMRAP format in teams (achieving maximum repetitions in a given time). During this WOD, the children had to divide the following movements: 20 Box Jumps, 40 alternating lunges, 60 rope jumps. “Each exercise was adapted according to the level and capacities of the children, which is an essential point of our teaching. Children could replace one exercise with another, and the intensity and duration were adjusted according to age,” said Hervé Fontaine, president of the association. The pace and safety of each individual were at the core of this educational approach. “The cross-training school Sport 7 aims to develop overall motor skills, learn fundamental movements, work on coordination and balance, promote socialization and team spirit, and value each child without a focus on pure performance,” added Hervé Fontaine, emphasizing the festive and inspiring spirit of this Olympic day.
