The atmosphere was both studious for the most stressed children and electric for the most impatient ones on the evening of Thursday, March 26th, in the hall of the castle of Cousances-les-Forges.
The EIM, the inter-municipal music school of Codecom des Portes de Meuse, invited 19 of its apprentice musicians out of the 107 enrolled to perform in front of about sixty people, parents, or friends.
“This mid-season audition aims to assess the progress made by these students, whether beginners or advanced after several years of practice,” said Pascal Boudier, guitar teacher. Except for Laurent Mathieu, who could not attend, all the other teachers were present to support their students. Géraldine James accompanied the young musicians on the violin in pieces such as “The old castle” and “Clare’s song”. Jean-Claude Lemoine supported the beginners on the piano with “A good duty” and “Sandman”. Pascal Boudier guided his students in “We write on the walls” and “Washington Square”. Anaël Adamczyk set up her students on the drums for solos on music by Bruno Mars and Shaka Ponk. Pierre-Emmanuel Gillet suggested to the young electric guitar enthusiasts “May song trad” and “Song of the wind”. Hubert Rache, on the drums, set the tone for the budding guitarist with “Blue sky”. Despite stage fright, some children performing in public for the first time, each one applied themselves to demonstrate their skills and progress since the beginning of the school year. All these efforts were greeted with applause from an already supportive audience, like an encouragement to continue on the chosen path.
