On Friday, March 20, the fifteen newly elected municipal councilors gathered in the town hall to elect the mayor and the four deputies. Bernard Volant, the dean of the councilors, presided over the municipal council meeting and Pierre Amaré volunteered to be the session secretary.

After the mandates of André and Pascal, Jean-Baptiste Jallet was elected mayor with thirteen votes for, one against, and one abstention. Gérard Blanc was elected first deputy with fourteen votes for and one abstention, the same for Aurélie Lasvaux, second deputy, Marc Laborie, third deputy, Edith Ménéjecaze, fourth deputy. In the absence of Dominique Lenfant, the outgoing mayor, Bernard Volant handed the tricolor sash to Jean-Baptiste Jallet to the applause of the public.

The mayor and deputy’s allowances were renewed identical to the previous mandate, taking into account the revaluation provided by the law of 12-22-2025 on the status of local elected officials. All councilors signed the elected officials’ charter.

The new general secretary, Alexandra Clérot, introduced herself officially. She replaces Nathalie Hamoniaux, who is moving towards new horizons.

“Before concluding, I would like to have a thought for those who preceded us and who, in their own way, contributed to the life and growth of our municipality,” the mayor said. “I am particularly thinking of those who participated in the last mandate: Dominique, Martine, Philippe, Jean-Luc, Didier, Mireille, Hugues, Cyrielle, Sophie, Aurélie, Philippe. Today, we continue in this continuity, with humility and responsibility. I also want to salute the commitment of the municipal employees, whose daily work is essential to the proper functioning of our community.

Finally, I want to thank the residents for the trust they place in us. It is for them, with them, that we will act.”
